Goal 5:
5. Improve Maternal Health
The Congo has one of the Highest Maternal Mortality rates in the countries listed under the MDG. According to an Article in AllAfrica.com , this rate has decreased by a significant amount.
They credit this change to the programs for family planning as well as all around better maternal health care. The data that was discussed was from the past decade. In 2005 , the maternal mortality rate was 781 deaths for every 100,000 mothers in 2005 , down to 426 deaths per 100,000 mothers giving live birth in 2012.

gOAL 7:
7. Ensure environmental Stability
Page 96 of the UNDP report on the Continental Africa states that the Congo as a whole is on its way to sustaining its forest. The congo is home to one of the largest rainforests (The second largest) in the world, but was threatened by continued deforestation for some time. The African Development Bank specifically set out to make sure they could fight poverty, but still sustain the materials in the environment. Unlike several of the other millenium development goals, it seems as though this one is being focused on, but it isn’t clear if they are on track to meet the goal by 2015.

Goal 8:
8.Global Partnership for development.
One of the articles that I chose to analyze was written on the meetings that are / were being held in Kinshasha that were to address many of the problems that its people are facing. Based on the countries, regions, and organizations involved, it would be safe to say that the Democratic Republic of the Congo is on it way to developing strong global bonds. The countries that were involved are South korea, Ethipoia, and South Africa.
